The Prince of Peace

Verse 1 To hail Thy rising Sun of life,
The gath'ring nations come,
Joyous as when the reapers bear
Their harvest treasures home.

Verse 2 For Thou our burdens hast removed,
Th'oppressor's reign is broke;
Thy fiery conflict with the foe
Has burst his cruel yoke.

Verse 3 “To us the promised Child is born,
To us the Son is giv'n;
Him shall the tribes of earth obey,
And all the hosts of heav'n.”

Verse 4 His pow'r increasing still shall spread,
his reign no end shall know;
Justice shall guard His throne above,
And peace abound below.

Refrain His Name shall be,
His Name shall be the Prince of Peace,
His Name shall be the Prince of Peace
Forevermore adored,
The Wonderful, the Counsellor,
The mighty God and Lord.
