Nearer to Thee

Verse 1 Nearer to Thee, Lord, draw me today;
Nearer to Thee each step of the way.
Thou art my Savior. So I would be
Daily and hourly nearer to Thee.

Verse 2 Tho’ Thou has saved me dangers abound.
Pitfalls are near me, foes are around.
Close to abide, Lord, hold fast my hand,
Till I have crossed this dangerous land.

Verse 3 Yonder where angels sing near Thy throne,
I shall be ever wholly Thine own.
Free from temptations there I shall be,
Drawn by Thy love, Lord, closely to Thee,

Refrain Nearer to Thee, Lord, never to roam;
Nearer to Thee, Lord, all the way home.
Oft I am troubled, tempted and tried.
Draw me dear Jesus, close to Thy side.
