The Day of God Is Breaking

Verse 1 Lo, the day of God is breaking!
See the gleaming from afar!
Sons of earth from slumber waking,
Hail the bright and Morning Star!

Verse 2 Conq’ring hosts with banners waving,
Sweeping on o’er hill and plain,
Ne’er shalt halt till swells the anthem,
“Christ o’er all the earth doth reign!”

Refrain Though rejected and denied,
Persecuted, crucified,
He from out the grave arose
In triumph o’er His foes!
Who shall then deny, His name,
or who His pow’r defy?
Before Him we adoring fall,
And crown Him Lord of all.
Behold Him!
Though rejected and denied,
Persecuted, crucified,
He from out the grave arose
In triumph o’er His foes!
Who shall then deny, His name,
or Who His pow’r defy?
Before Him we adoring fall,
And crown Him Lord of all.
