Sing the Blessed Gospel Story

Verse 1 Sing the blessed gospel story,
Sing its merits o’er and o’er;
How the Saviour came from glory,
And the cruel cross He bore,
To redeem our souls from bondage,
And His grace on us bestow,
Giving us eternal life for evermore.

Verse 2 Sound it forth to ev’ry nation,
Let the precious tidings roll;
Praise the Rock of our salvation,
Cheer the sad and weary soul.
Stand up boldly for the Master
While you journey here below,
Raise your voice in adoration as you go.

Verse 3 Sing that Jesus made oblation,
Set our prisoned spirits free;
Died for ev’ry heathen nation,
As He did for you and me.
Sound a note of gospel warning,
Let it reach from shore to shore,
Praises to our risen Lord for evermore.
