I Am Leaving the Dangerous Sands

Verse 1 With a zeal that is new,
I again would pursue,
Here, the course that my Saviour commands;
Thro’ the light that shines in,
Brighter hopes now begin,
I am leaving the dangerous sands!

Verse 2 I am now on the road,
Leading home to my God;
I am placing my cause in His hands;
It is gladness for me
Once again to be free,
I am leaving the dangerous sands!

Verse 3 Let me go far away
From that field of dismay,
Nevermore to be held by its bands;
Thro’ the light that is mine,
From the Spirit divine,
I am leaving the dangerous sands!

Refrain They had mired my feet,
Stayed my progress so sweet,
Here, in heeding my Saviour’s commands;
O I praise His great name,
That this vict’ry I claim,
I am leaving the dangerous sands!
