I’m Leaning On Jesus

Verse 1 I’m leaning on Jesus, my dearest friend,
With Him my guide I’m truly blest,
I’m weak, but He will condescend
To give support and rest.

Verse 2 I’m leaning on Jesus, with child-like faith,
To Him the future I confide;
Each step of life’s untrodden path,
His love shall sweetly guide.

Verse 3 I’m leaning on Jesus, tho’ faint and weak,
His loving voice salutes my ear,
His heav’nly accents comfort speak,
I have no cause to fear.

Verse 4 I’m leaning on Jesus, no dread alarms,
Although I stand on death’s cold brink,
I’ll feel His everlasting arms,
I will not, cannot sink.

Refrain O He sweetly supports me,
While on His bosom I’m leaning,
He’ll bear me over the sea of life,
And bring me safely home.
