Verse 1 On Calv’ry’s cross, behold the One
Who is God’s Fellow and His Son,
Accursed there upon the tree,
He died to set the guilty free.
Verse 2 He “knew no sin,” yet He must there
God’s righteous, holy judgment bear,
Must suffer in our guilty stead,
And numbered be among the dead.
Verse 3 He’s risen now, the work is done,
And God has glorified His Son;
Has set Him in the highest place,
The source of rich, unbounded grace.
Verse 4 Then to the Lord for refuge fly,
For why, poor sinner, wilt thou die?
Why wilt thou still refuse His call?
Who seeks to save, who died for all.
